My Favourite Trip #13

Welcome to week 13 of #MyFavouriteTrip! Thanks to all who joined in, it really is a pleasure reading your posts. I have been in Amsterdam and had such a lovely time. There is nothing like a change of scenery to gain some perspective on everything is there? Amsterdam is such a great city for adults and kids alike, we had so many adventures and I really want to go back. I'll be writing about it very soon but in the meantime I'm linking up A Winters Stroll Along the Promenade. It's an old post but we were at the seaside this morning and although it was gloriously sunny there was a chill in the air and it reminded me of my old post. The last link up ran over two weeks so there are two winners this week, yay! We're going to Amsterdam!

We are going to Amsterdam tomorrow and I cannot wait! It feels like I've been waiting and planning this trip for ages and it's finally arrived, yay! People who read regularly will know I separated from my son's dad last year. The change hasn't been easy and some days I feel like I'm still finding my feet as a single parent. This will be my first trip travelling solo on a plane with my two year old, eek. I've worried about all the things that could potentially go wrong but now I'm just excited (and a little sleep deprived from the last couple of days). My son has been on a plane but not since he was a baby and he's been telling everyone he's very excited! We'll be spending some time by ourselves then have friends joining us over the weekend. I think it's a really nice balance actually, quality time with my boy then fun with friends.

New Happyology Store in Brighton

Pip and I recently attended the opening of the new Happyology Store in Brighton, a luxury baby and children's clothing boutique in the North Laine area of town. With one store in Leamington Spa this is Happyology's debut in Brighton, selling a high quality range of beautiful clothes made from the finest materials. Happyology's aim is to apply traditional features and techniques to every garment to provide a unique collection of children's clothing and accessories. I do love this shopping area in Brighton as there are many great independent boutiques and it's always nice to discover new stores. Happyology sells clothes from newborn to age seven and their collection includes essentials for babies, sleepsuits, dungareers, jeans, cardigans, pyjamas, shoes, hats, dresses and gift sets. Being the store's opening there were balloons, food and drinks, much to Pip's delight!

I was planning on having a new link up this week but I am off to Amsterdam and have had some unfortunate delays (broken boiler and a poorly toddler) and just haven't had time I'm afraid. My Favourite Trip #11

Welcome to week 11 of #MyFavouriteTrip! Thanks to all who linked up last week. As always, it's lovely to hear about your adventures, experiences and travel tips. The posts were all quite varied and it's great reading about travel experiences from different angles and perspectives. The definition of a trip is "a journey or excursion, especially for pleasure" so #MyFavouriteTrip is designed for any trip, big or small! I've been quite busy the last couple of months and have recently posted my February/March Life & Blog Update. I haven't written about any trips this week so I'm linking up last year's trip on the Brighton Wheel.

My February/March Update

I can't believe we're in April already. I wrote a draft of my February update last month but life was just too busy to finish it I'm afraid so I didn't get time to publish it. Instead, here's my life & blog update from the last two months.

Blog Update

• Exciting news! We are going to be featured in the June edition of Gurgle Magazine, our first magazine feature!

• In January I made it in the top 500 of the tots100 (top UK parent blogs) for the first time. Then just after writing about it, I dropped out the following month, typical! However, I've since risen back up and am now at 427, my highest ever position, yay! I'm also ranked at #75 in the Trips100 (top UK travel blogs). I know scores aren't the be all and end all but it's always nice to see your stats rise!

• At the beginning of the year, I wrote about my reasons for doing the #take12trips challenge and my plan for taking a trip each month. In January it was a trip to Devils Dyke, in February it was a day trip to Lewes and my March trip was a weekend in Dorset. I've also been on many more trips including the Easter weekend and other trips to London & to visit family.
