My Homeware Wish List

It’s the time of the year for a spring clean and a homeware makeover. Recently I’ve watched a few YouTube videos on rearranging furniture and accessories within the home for a new look. These makeovers use items that already exist in the home, including ones that have been forgotten about and usually end up in the garage, shed or loft! The items are collected, rearranged within a space and a room makeover is complete! I love the creativity in these makeovers and the fact that you save money in the process without the need to splash out on new products. It’s amazing how arranging a few pieces of furniture and swapping wall hangings and objects in the room can make such a big difference. I did this a few months ago in my living room and it worked really well. Occasionally, though a new piece of furniture can make the world of difference. Here's my homeware wish list.

Work Desk
I found this cute multi-purpose desk from Ikea and love it. The table can be adjusted to suit height and can be a flat or titled table top. By adjusting the trestle the table can be used for writing, painting or drawing. So handy! This could easily be switched from an adult’s work space to a child’s painting table in no time. For £75, I think it’s a bargain too.

Wall Art
I’ve had the same art hanging up for years and it’s time for a change. As I live in Brighton, I have been meaning to purchase a seaside print of the town. I love this Dave Thompson Contemporary Travel Print of Brighton seafront and it would look perfect in my living room.

Sofa
I’ve written about needing a new sofa since I started blogging I think, oops! I still need one and every time I visit a sofa shop I change my mind about what type I’d like. Cox and Cox have some beautifully designed sofas. I love the contemporary  Timsbury velvet sofa in mustard. It’s not a colour I would usually choose for a sofa but a friend has one in a similar colour and it lightens up her room!
Rug
A rug can make a big difference to the overall look and feel of a room. I was in a big branch of TX Maxx recently and was amazed by how cheap the rugs were. This cute art market rug with leaf print would look ideal in a bathroom or hall way!

Lighting
Another thing that can change a room's appearance is the lighting! This quirky design is the Scion lintu lampshade in dandelion by John Lewis. The city range of lampshades with London and New York designs also caught my eye!

  2. Really love the wall art! I’ve been looking at lots of art lately as we are redecorating! Well not until June but we’ve got the decorator booked so I feel I ought to at least look at it all now!

You have great taste; given me lots of inspiration! Love the desk and sofa too x

  9. I used to have one of those work desk during my architectural study years, but I had to get rid of it when we were moving because actually, the table top was from a door! lol! It was too heavy plus I needed the space for baby's changing table etc, as I was due on the week we were moving! lol! But yes, otherwise I was totally recommend it. :D
