Dreaming of Greece

I’m not sure about you but it feels that my last holiday abroad was ages ago. It was actually last year when we were in India, at the beginning of 2020 but it feels much longer ago now. Doesn’t COVID feel like it has lasted years! I have missed travelling abroad and would like to go away again soon. I love travelling around Europe and if I were to choose right now Greece would be one of my top countries to visit.

I was recently invited to a virtual Greek cocktail making class with Jet2.com, Jet2holidays and Mixology. Although my cocktail making skills are somewhat lacking, it was great to take part and learn more about making a proper cocktail. I had no idea you could use honey or jam in a cocktail or the amount of alcohol that goes into a cocktail! I’m not used to drinking cocktails these days 😊 But it was a fun online evening event and thank you to everyone involved for hosting!

Along with making cocktails, all the talk of sea and sun got me back into dreaming about travelling abroad again. As the evening was inspired by Greece my thoughts wandered off into dreams about being under the beaming sun, swimming in warm crystal clear waters, lying on soft silky sand, wandering around cobbled streets on the historical islands and eating all that wonderfully tasty Greek food such as fresh fish, spanakopita, dolmades, moussaka, taramasalata etc. I love all the history Greece has to offer too and visiting the Parthenon was unforgettable. The last time I went to Greece I was fortunate to be with my Greek friend who knew exactly where to go in terms of the best places to visit and the best restaurants to eat at. That was many years ago now so hopefully it wont be too long till I visit this pretty country again.

Have you been to Greece? Where you like to go for your next holiday?

*This is a collaborative post. All words and opinions are my own. Thank you to Mixology and Jet2com and Jet2holidays for hosting the cocktail class.
