If you use Instagram or any type of social media you have probably seen a lot of people posting nine of their most liked Instagram photos from 2015 with the hashtag #2015bestnine. I posted mine on my Instagram page and thought I'd include them here on the blog as well. Along with twitter, Instagram is now my favourite form of social media (sorry facebook). As you can probably tell I love taking photographs and use my DSLR regularly. However, it's big and heavy and a bit of an effort to take out all of the time so when I finally purchased a new iPhone this year, with a pretty decent camera, I started using Instagram. I've been using the App since May and wish I had started sooner. For someone who loves to take photographs where had I been?! I do love the fact that, it's so quick and (obviously) instant. Point, click, edit and post. Instagram is also a great place for interaction. I've met people, online at least, and it's amazing to connect with people from around the world and see snippets of their lives! Whenever I'm feeling a bit of wanderlust or missing places abroad I'll use the search tag for a location and photos will come up in an instant. I've done this a lot for locations in India recently since I have family there and would love to take my little boy at some point. Until then, Instagram will suffice! It's also nice for searching things closer to home in and around Brighton.
I try to capture anything colourful or scenes I think will make a good photo. I suppose my feed is quite dreamy. I didn't realise until using Instagram for a while though, how much I love and appreciate nature and the outdoors, since most of my photos are of the seaside, flowers, wildlife and blue skies! I do include other things such as food, buildings, crafts, activity shots of my toddler and the odd ones of me! I don't take Instagram too seriously since I edit most of my photos and will admit a seaside shot in poor lighting on a cloudy day can turn into something stunning on Instagram with a bit, or a lot, of help from their filters! And I have to admit my photos make Brighton beach look much nicer than it actually looks on most days! I feel people can portray a 'perfect life' in their feeds so I take it all with a pinch of salt. Saying that though I do love to see what others get up to and love Instagram in general!
So I'm sharing my nine most popular photos which happen to be mostly seaside shots taken in Brighton or Hove. My most popular photo is my little boy at the seaside and one where I include a A. A. Milne quote. I used the same photo in my Photo Friday: Love blog post and do love the lighting in the photo as well as my little boy staring out to sea :) We had been on the beach for much of the afternoon, throwing pebbles into the sea and stayed there until sunset. Other than the six photos of the sea, there's one of beach huts, one on the #SaveSyriasChildren movement and finally one of my little boy splashing in the paddling pool. Thanks to everyone that follows/likes my photos. I wonder what next year's favourite shots will be.
What do you enjoy about Instagram? What are your favourite shots? Would love to hear your views.
Looks like you have a great feed. Love the little feetsies in the water. :]

Loving the amount of blue in your photos.
ReplyDeleteI'm all or nothing when it comes to Instagram but I'm going to try and be a bit more consistent next year. It is my favourite social media platform too but I do feel quite overwhelmed by it sometimes.
